434 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of speech and language therapists in the Kildare area of the Health Service Executive that deal with children; if there is a shortfall in regard to positions; if so, the number of same; the number of therapists dealing with speech and language with children that have been employed in the Kildare area for each of the past five years; the number of times over this period that the Health Service Executive or her Department advertised for therapists; her views in regard to the waiting time, in view of the importance particularly for children starting mainstream education, of the lack of such therapy; her plans to address the problem; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
