Deputy Michael Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the reason an appeal in respect of a maternity benefit for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was referred by the social welfare appeals office back to the maternity benefit section of her Department when it was the scope section of her Department which determined that the applicable class of pay related social insurance in this case was not insurable under the Social Welfare Acts; if this appeal will be dealt with; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
