Deputy Denise Mitchell asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if the attention of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner has been drawn to the increasing use of digital billboard and signage screens known as digital out of home advertising (details supplied) in public places which incorporate a digital camera and software to identify and track the behaviours of those who pass these billboards; if there are requirements for premises to inform persons of the presence of such billboards; the collected data which may be retained by these companies; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
