Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the extent to which exceptional needs payments continued to meet the needs of various applicants over the past 12 months as was previously the case, with particular reference to applications from bereaved families, in view of the fact that the bereavement grant no longer exists; if she is satisfied that exceptional needs payments continue to be made in line with the need arising from families' circumstances; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
