Durkan asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government if instructions can be given to the local authorities to reintroduce the provision of specific isolated housing in rural areas for suitably qualified persons already on local authority housing lists or otherwise qualified; if the development of privately serviced sites can be undertaken in either urban or rural areas by the local authorities as a matter of urgency with the objective of alleviating the increasingly serious housing crisis; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
