Deputy Anthony Lawlor asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will provide details of the quality standards being imposed on the installation of the water meters which are being rolled out nationwide to ensure they comply with best international practice, that water does not freeze in the winter months or that disruption of services will occur; if he will give an assurance that all meters will be installed to the same standard and the monitoring of the work that is being undertaken; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
