Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the extent to which agreement has been reached between the traditional canal users, dwellers, recreational users and Waterways Ireland in regard to the draft regulations to dramatically increase charges, which could have the effect of limiting the extent to which the canals may be available to such users in the future; if the submissions received in connection with the issue have been fully examined; the extent to which it is expected to accede to these requests; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
