Deputy Willie O'Dea asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform if he will allow previous years of payment increments to be counted towards a current salary scale when an individual is offered a permanent job in the public service; if he is aware that in many cases, the individuals affected by this anomaly have worked in the same building, at the same desk, doing the same role, with the only difference being their pay previously came from a non-Government agency funded by the Government; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
