PQ 40
40. Deputy Patrick O'Donovan asked the Minister for Social Protection if her attention has been drawn to instances where correspondence from her Department to persons in receipt of social welfare actively seeks to discourage, or prevent, claimants from receiving their payment over the counter at their local post office and instead provides only the option of EFT to banks; her views that removing that option could damage significantly the viability of the post office; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
