Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the extent to which the Central Bank monitors the activities of regulated and unregulated lending institutions, with particular reference to their dealings with customers; if it is recognised that the lending institutions are not accurately representing the manner and methodology of their dealings in respect of repossessions in view of the fact that countless so-called voluntary surrenders have been achieved through intimidation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
