401. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Protection to indicate to the grounds upon which an individual in receipt of an income from an Approved Retirement Fund, before age 66 years, must pay S class contributions before qualifying for the State pension, which ultimately disqualifies them from receiving the jobseeker's benefit bridging payment before qualifying for the State pension at age 66 as they are then classed as a self-employed contributor, despite not being self-employed; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
