PQ 404
404. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Health in situations where a medical card has been issued on medical hardship grounds and where it required the provision of evidence that was both costly and time consuming to gather, whether he will ask the PCRS to change its practice of disposing of the evidence where it has scheduled a review within a 12-month timeframe; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that much of the evidence, such as a diagnosis, will not alter, and that requiring the same evidence to be gathered again is placing additional, avoidable stress on applicants; if a limited review process might be considered as an alternative; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
