Deputy Michael Lowry asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if he will intervene to ensure that funding is made available to ensure that Childline’s 24-hour service continues; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that due to a funding crisis caused by increased demand, Childline may have to withdraw its night-time service, a time when the service is desperately needed; if his attention has been further drawn to the vital importance of Childline to vulnerable children throughout the country; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
