PQ 418

418. Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Health if she will review the current reimbursement status of a medication (details supplied) under the drugs payment scheme and general medical services scheme; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that women who develop medically induced menopause as a result of cancer treatment, and who cannot use HRT due to hormone-sensitive cancers, are required to pay for this medication while women accessing HRT for natural menopause can do so free of charge under the HRT scheme; and if she will address this apparent inequity in access to menopause symptom management for cancer patients.
