495 Deputy Brendan Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if, in relation to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford, his attention has been drawn to the fact that they were originally refused permission to remain in the State as they were unable to produce their passports which were held until recently released by the UK Home Office; his views on whether it is equitable that their more recent application for permission to reside in the State as the parents of an Irish born child has been refused on the basis that the application was not submitted in good time, in circumstances where they were unable through no fault of their own to make the application in good time owing to non-availability of their passports; if he will review this application for permission to reside in the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
