PQ 419

419. Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade in view of the UN General Assembly vote on 5 December 2014 to establish the modalities for the implementation of a multilateral legal framework for sovereign debt restructuring, the reason for Ireland's decision to vote against the resolution; the extent the Government consulted with Global South governments, or other heavily indebted governments in Europe, in coming to its decision; and the factors that explain the Government's move from abstaining on the same substantive issue at the Human Rights Council on 26 September 2014 (A/HRC/27/L.26) to voting "No" at the General Assembly on 5 December 2014.
