461 Deputy Ciarán Lynch asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his plans to rectify an anomaly arising under the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000 in relation to one off housing, whereby the owner is restricted for seven years regarding those to whom the property can be sold, whereas, if the owner defaults as a result of job loss and so on the financial institution which repossesses the house is unrestricted and may profit at the owner’s expense; if he will consider a relaxation of this rule on a case by case basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
