Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if his Department can provide a projected timeline for the installation of water meters to the 300,000 homes that have not been included in the initial roll-out of metering; if it is the intention of Irish Water and his Department that meters will be installed at these homes in the foreseeable future; if two homes sharing a single connection will be treated any differently to an apartment block; the reason this supply cannot be split as part of the meter installation programme; if he will provide an update on the deliberations of the Commission for Energy Regulation in respect of water charges; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
