Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Education and Skills her views on Section 7 of the Equal Status Act 2000 which bans religious discrimination on admissions to all schools, recognising that the exception in Section 7(3)(c) applies only to the totally privately-funded schools referred to in Article 42.1 of the Constitution, and does not apply to national schools or any school in receipt of State funding or public moneys as referred to in Article 44.2.4 of the Constitution; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
