Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Health the number of paediatric social admissions being admitted to hospital for non-medical reasons, for example, while awaiting a place at a unit appropriate to the child's needs, to each of the Dublin hospitals in each of the years from 2007 to 2016 and to date in 2017; the total cost per annum of social admissions to each of the Dublin hospitals in this date range; the length of time each child was admitted as a social admission; the average cost per day of a paediatric social admission in 2016; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
