73 Deputy Brian O’Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 21 of 26 February 2009, if he will request his Department’s inspectors to pay an individual visit to each of the 120 primary schools within the Diocese of Cloyne, which serve approximately 18,000 pupils, to ensure that the board of management of each school is complying with all necessary requirements to ensure that adequate child protection procedures are in place, in view of the failure of a person (details supplied) to satisfactorily report incidents of child sexual abuse by persons under their authority; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
