Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the extent to which it might be possible to formulate an emergency housing delivery plan with particular reference to the need to address the emerging housing crisis in a structured way incorporating the purchase of the maximum possible number of existing houses, local authority or otherwise ready for occupation or in need of refurbishment in areas where the need is greatest in an attempt to meet the immediate problem in a short time and to make provision for the augmentation of a land bank in order to meet future direct build requirements of circa. 10,000 houses annually over the next five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
