Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 1072 of 2 May 2017, if his attention has been drawn to the fact that increased difficulty in accessing home care support is worse for persons under 65 years of age who have suffered a stroke; the consideration which is being given to those persons to access home supports in order to avoid direct discharge to nursing homes, the increase in which has translated to additional expenditure of €17.25 million between 2014 and 2015; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
