PQ 49

49. Deputy Tom Fleming asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection if she will review and reverse the proposal to abolish the local companies for the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (details supplied), the proposal which is to replace service with a number of new quangos, based either regionally or nationally, in view of the fact that this is a further attack on local democracy and active citizenship, and as a result of which decisions will be taken on customers' needs at a level far removed and with no regard for local need; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
