Deputy Albert Dolan asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation , further to Parliamentary Question No. 337 of 24 June 2025, in which he confirmed that the Office of Government Procurement had ceased collection of procurement addressable expenditure data following legal advice relating to GDPR obligations, and that the OGP was exploring new approaches to re-activating public procurement reporting, if he will provide a full update on whether legal advices have been reviewed or updated since the original decision to cease data collection, and if so, what conclusions were reached; whether any engagement has taken place with the Data Protection Commission or the Attorney General's office in relation to establishing a lawful basis for the resumption of procurement expenditure data collection; what specific new approaches or mechanisms are being considered for the collection and processing of procurement addressable expenditure data, and at what stage of development those approaches currently are; and whether a timeline has yet been established for the publication of any future procurement spend report, and if not, when such a timeline is expected to be confirmed.
