43 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has investigated reports of incidences of gardaí in Tralee, Galway, Dundalk, Kildare and Clare refusing to accept Garda National Immigration Bureau cards as valid identification for the purposes of voter registration of eligible asylum seekers who fled without passports or other forms of identification; and the action which has been taken by the Government to resolve this situation and to ensure that no eligible voter is disenfranchised as a result.
