511 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if legislation or regulations will be introduced to permit local authorities to request the occupiers of houses and other buildings to mark their houses with such numbers as the local authority may approve and to renew such numbers as often as they become obliterated or defaced in view of the fact that the Towns Improvement Clauses Act 1847 and the Dublin Improvement Act 1849 have been repealed by the Local Government Act 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
