58 Deputy Jim O’Keeffe asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the controversy which has arisen in relation to labour relations arrangements on the operation of the official ferry to Cape Clear Island in west Cork in respect of which his Department makes available substantial State subsidy; and if he will bring to the attention of the operator the need to ensure that proper industrial relations procedures will be followed in the operation of the ferry.
