Deputy Tony McLoughlin asked the Minister for Social Protection if his attention has been drawn to the fact that on three separate occasions since 2007, a person (details supplied) has tried unsuccessfully to obtain access to a disability payment in view of being unable to work due to severe leg pain; if an investigation can now be undertaken by his Department in order to ascertain the way this person now qualifies for the payment in 2016, given that the person did not qualify in 2007 with the very same illness; if he will provide the name of the departmental doctors that reported that the person was fit to work on previous applications; if grounds for back payments to the date of their first application can be considered; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
