607 Deputy John O’Mahony asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if his attention has been drawn to the response given by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in the European Parliament on 7 May 2008 which states that the EU legislation related to support under the second pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy does not provide a specific deadline to complete EU grant aided farm buildings; if in the context of same he will extend the date for the completion of building works under the farm waste management scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
