Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Justice and Equality in view of the ongoing crimes against the elderly and most vulnerable in County Donegal, if he will review his decision not to make a case to the Department of Finance for the moneys raised through the Criminal Assets Bureau to be used to set up and support community alert schemes in rural areas as proposed by Letterkenny Town Council; and if money allocated to these schemes could then be used to fit alarms and security lights at the homes of the elderly most at risk from criminals.
