Broughan asked the Minister for Justice and Law Reform if he will confirm the announcement by a Garda superintendent (details supplied) that the rollout of the national safety camera programme will begin in October 2010 and should be at full capacity by January 2011; if he will report on the arrangements in place with the private operator, in particular; if the terms of the payment to the operator will be on the basis of monitoring or surveying hours and not on the number of detections; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
