Broughan asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection her plans to allow notaries public to solemnise marriages; if new legislation is necessary to provide for this change in view of the fact that at present those that wish to get married outside of normal Monday to Friday office hours and do not wish to have a religious or humanist ceremony cannot do so; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
