Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the circumstances in which a person (details supplied) retained an additional allowance in respect of the chairmanship of a State body, which is paid over and above their salary as CEO of another State body; if the retention of that additional allowance was in breach of Government pay policy; if such payment was required as a result of pre-existing contractual obligations to the person prior to the adoption of the so-called one person, one salary principle; if other public service or Civil Service personnel are in receipt of similar allowances and, if so, the details of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
