Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Education and Skills if she will provide an update on her engagement with the Data Protection Commissioner with regard to the operation of the new primary online database for primary schools; if the commissioner has given his consent and approval to her Department gathering all the information which it is seeking from schools with regard to their pupils; in the event that there are outstanding issues to be resolved with the commissioner, if she will suspend the further collection of information for the primary online database; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
