Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Finance his plans to amend the Finance Acts to regulate the rights, powers and duties of officers regarding the collection of outstanding taxes and seizure of goods in order to ensure the maximum transparency and accountability; if he will provide for an appeal process for those who have had goods seized and disposed of; if he is satisfied that there are adequate safeguards for the subject who has their goods seized; the comparisons that are made in respect of best practice from other European States; if the practices are subject to external evaluation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
