580. Deputy Stephen S. Donnelly asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government further to Parliamentary Question No. 499 of 23 September 2014, where he stated Irish Water is currently fully compliant with data protection requirements, and further to written confirmation from the Data Protection Commissioner’s Office which states it is likely that Irish Water will be asked to make certain amendments, and in relation to marketing preferences an amendment to the marketing reference in the data protection notice is likely to be required, if he will ensure that Irish Water liaises with the Data Protection Commissioner to ensure all required changes are made before any citizen is asked to hand over information, or incurs any cost for non-compliance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
