Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Health if, following the death of a person (details supplied) in University Hospital Limerick in early 2017, an alert was issued to persons with cystic fibrosis attending the hospital as to the dangers of carbapenemase-producing enterobacteriaceae, CPE, for persons with this condition; and if the HSE or his Department has carried out a risk assessment regarding the risk to other cystic fibrosis patients from the super bug CRE both in University Hospital Limerick and throughout the health service.
