Deputy Cathal Crowe asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science in view of the shortage of medical doctors and nurses in Ireland, if he will give consideration to introducing an additional qualification category for SUSI grants so that students who have already completed a QQI level 8 degree, and are undertaking an additional postgraduate course to train as a medical doctor or nurse (also QQI level 8) become, in principle, entitled to bursary support; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
