Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the extent to which the UK authorities are requesting Irish food exporters to the UK to comply with new and excessive regulations in regard to food hygiene and inspections thereby increasing administrative requirements beyond those of the European Union; if action has been taken or is in hand to address these issues which will have serious consequences for Irish products entering the UK market; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
