Deputy Alan Dillon asked the Minister for Health when a planning application will be lodged for the new emergency department at University Hospital Galway; the reason this urgently needed project is being delayed; the queries National HSE Estates have now in relation to the new emergency department and the proposed maternity and paediatrics department; when a planning application will be lodged for a new outpatients facility at Merlin Park to cater for lost facilities on the footprint of the planned emergency department; and when a planning application will be lodged to allow the decanting of emergency department facilities to the front of the existing facility in order for the new emergency department to be built.
