Broughan asked the Minister for Education and Skills if he has considered the recent findings of the published report Suicide in Ireland 2003-2008, in particular the recommendation contained in the report that a national review of psychoeducation and mental health literacy needs to be considered and that an intensive and evaluated approach to suicide intervention needs to be brought forward in schools; if he will be making provision in his Department's expenditure in 2013 and 2014 to introduce positive measures for suicide intervention awareness in schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
