Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if consideration has been given to a funding package for farmers affected by tuberculosis outbreaks; if a package has been considered to cover the costs and time involved in retesting animals at regular intervals every few weeks; his views on whether farmers affected should not have to lie with the losses incurred in retesting and in power washing and disinfecting sheds and yards; and his further views on whether it is unfair that the farmer facing multiple tests will not be compensated for their costs or time while the other stakeholders in the process will be paid.
