Deputy Gerald Nash asked the Minister for Health his plans for wide dissemination to all relevant parties of information about the facility by which people with a terminal diagnosis may be given a medical card immediately the terminal diagnosis is verified by a registered medical practitioner regardless of patient means in view of recent press reports which suggest that some patients and their medical and social care teams may not be aware of this facility; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
