Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Finance further to the ruling of the International Court of Justice that Israel’s occupation of Palestine is illegal and that there is a duty upon states to ban trade and investment with settlements, if he will progress the Illegal Israeli Settlements Divestment Bill 2023 to ensure that Ireland does not continue to invest in companies which derive profits from their investment in illegal settlements; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
