Deputy Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin asked the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport when approval will be granted for the 2.1% increase to occupational pensions effective from 1 July 2025, which has already been fully agreed by pension scheme trustees, actuaries, unions and company boards; and the reason for the ongoing delay in sign-off by his Department, given that these pension schemes are financially secure, privately funded and the increase places no cost whatsoever on the Exchequer.
