PQ 73

73. Deputy Louise O'Reilly asked the Minister for Social Protection if he would consider tabulating his annual child poverty target with the material deprivation rate together with the rate at risk of poverty (after housing costs) as opposed to the current formula which incorporates the former with the at risk of poverty rate (before housing costs); if he is aware that the current child poverty target obscures the true scale of child poverty; if he will not consider making this change that he will explain his reasoning fully; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
