Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Finance if inheritance tax must be paid before a house is sold in circumstances in which a house is willed to a person; and if so, the review that has been carried out on this arrangement in view of the effect it may have on the number of vacant dwellings in the State if the beneficiary is unable to afford or raise the amount of the tax in advance of the sale.
