Deputy Eamon Ryan asked the Minister for Health why €12 million was taken from the mental health budget and put into other areas of the health service (details supplied); if he has determined why graduates in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, family therapy and so on are not entering the mental health service to find ways to ensure these posts will be filled next year; and why he did not allow the mental health service to put this €12 million into other vital areas that are already under-resourced such as the child and adolescent services, nursing or community supports.
