754. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if he will indicate, arising from the displacement of traditional turf cutters caused by SACs or NHAs, the extent to which full and final settlement has been achieved in respect of all those affected; if in cases where alternative turf cutting areas are found not to be acceptable, if consideration has been given to the creation of alternative SACs or NHAs as a means of resolution; if any discussions have taken place with the EU authorities regarding same; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
